I just received some cute “haunted” graphics, and it got me thinking about Halloween. What’s it like in your area? Do trick-or-treaters roam your neighborhoods in search of candy bars…and ghouls and goblins?

Here in San Francisco, the trend in recent years has been for all of the city’s kids and parents to visit just a few neighborhoods. It makes for some astonishing crowds! And the kids do seem to enjoy these gigantic parties. But I miss the old tradition of kids walking from door to door in the neighborhood. It was so fun to see how excited they were about their costumes, and about a holiday that’s all about dress-up and sweets.
